چکیده

Photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) has received extensive attention in optical gas sensing due to the advantages of high sensitivity, selectivity, and online detection. Here, a mid-infrared hollow-core fiber (HCF) based flexible longitudinal photoacoustic resonator for PAS-based is proposed theoretically demonstrated. A anti-resonant HCF designed innovatively replace traditional metallic acoustic obtain cell PAS. Optical transmission characteristics are analyzed discussed, achieving single mode operation with below 1 dB/m confinement loss between 3 8 μm covering strong absorptions some hydrocarbons carbon oxides. With varied bending radii from 10 mm 200 mm, could be maintained hollow core. Based on effect, generated distributions HCF-based compared. Results show that sensor stable converged profile at resonant frequency around 16,787 Hz favorable linear response light source power concentration. The novel using presents bring potential advanced

Mid-Infrared Fiber-Coupled Photoacoustic Sensor for Biomedical Applications

Biomedical devices employed in therapy, diagnostics and for self-monitoring often require a high degree of flexibility and compactness. Many near infrared (NIR) optical fiber-coupled systems meet these requirements and are employed on a daily basis. However, mid-infrared (MIR) fibers-based systems have not yet found their way to routine application in medicine. In this work we present the imple...

Mid-Infrared Trace Gas Sensor Technology Based on Intracavity Quartz-Enhanced Photoacoustic Spectroscopy

The application of compact inexpensive trace gas sensor technology to a mid-infrared nitric oxide (NO) detectoion using intracavity quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy (I-QEPAS) is reported. A minimum detection limit of 4.8 ppbv within a 30 ms integration time was demonstrated by using a room-temperature, continuous-wave, distributed-feedback quantum cascade laser (QCL) emitting at 5.263...

Synchrotron infrared photoacoustic spectroscopy

The use of synchrotron radiation ~SR! as a farand mid-infrared source in the measurement of photoacoustic Fourier transform infrared spectra of solids is demonstrated for the first time in this work. Initial experiments were performed at beamline U10A at the National Synchrotron Light Source, Brookhaven National Laboratory. For synchrotron photoacoustic spectroscopy to be feasible, it must yiel...

Glucose sensing in human epidermis using mid-infrared photoacoustic detection

No reliable non-invasive glucose monitoring devices are currently available. We implemented a mid-infrared (MIR) photoacoustic (PA) setup to track glucose in vitro in deep epidermal layers, which represents a significant step towards non-invasive in vivo glucose measurements using MIR light. An external-cavity quantum-cascade laser (1010-1095 cm(-1)) and a PA cell of only 78 mm(3) volume were e...
